How to capture subtitle to srt file – CcScanner

CcScanner is an app that uses text detect technique to detect video contain subtitle frames and then recognize them and then convert the text to subtitle file. There are four steps to do that: Prepare, Scan, Review, and Export.

Prepare

Scroll the position to the subtitle frame. Adjust the scan range with blue crop, the app only detects the subtitle text in the crop area. If the video uses different subtitle color, using the mouse to pick the subtitle color as detect text color. You can [New] or [Save] the current setting as a profile while the same kind of videos will be detected in the feature.
If you only want to scan a period, you can set the “scan to” and “scan from” time to control the scan time.

Scan

You can unselect or merge the detect frames at scanning or finished. Unselect the frame mean the detected wrong frame that is not a subtitle frame, it will be deleted while save the project. Sometime the app will incorrect separate the subtitle frame, click the merge button can merge to section into one. Checking the detected frame at scanning, can save huge time while recognizing and reviewing the result at the next step.
Finish scanned can click [Review] directly or click [Save Cc] to save as project file (.ccx). If you want to export the detected images only, you can directly click [Save Images] to export the images into single compression file (.zip)

Review

If the system support text recognition, you can find OCR function at the right-top. To select the subtitle language first and then click [OCR] to recognize all selected items. The OCR (Free) can recognize 100 items per video, you can upgrade to unlimited recognition with OCR (90-day).

Export
After review the all items, click [Export] can save to subtitle file (.srt) or images package (.zip).
